Action 6 – Monitoring of genetic diversity in autochthonous Italian breeds and its assessment.
The monitoring of the inbreeding coefficient, assessed with microsatellite molecular markers, is planned for few F generations in a limited number of nucleus populations among those considered in Action 2 – Task 2.2. The action aims to verify the effect of the mating plans studied in Action 4 and implemented in breeder populations in terms of loss of genetic variation, increase of individual heterozygosity and improvement of performance rates ( productivity and reproductivity) in the F generations.
The partner UniTO is in charge of Action 6 in collaboration with partners UniPG and UniPD.
